Set an automatically updating market wallpaper with TickerCanvas
Use the desktop app to put your current canvas on a screen and refresh it automatically, without manually exporting an image.

Use the desktop command, not an image download
In a supported desktop app, choose Set as desktop on this screen. TickerCanvas uses the canvas settings you selected and prepares the desktop for the monitor containing the app window. You do not have to export a PNG, find it in Downloads or open the operating system’s wallpaper settings yourself.
PNG export remains a separate feature for a one-time picture you want to save or share. An exported PNG does not update itself. The desktop command creates an ongoing relationship between the running app, the selected screen and the shared market snapshot.
Understand what automatic updates mean
The desktop integration checks for changes every minute while TickerCanvas is running. A new shared snapshot updates the desktop without repeating the setup steps. The current market feed is end-of-day data, so a one-minute check does not mean the underlying prices change every minute. The visible trading session is the useful measure of freshness.
The app renders a clean canvas for the monitor and leaves the operating system in charge of desktop icons and ordinary windows. It is an automatically refreshed background image, not a video wallpaper or a promise of a continuously animated trading terminal.
Keep the app running in the background
On macOS, closing the main window leaves the app available from its menu-bar item. Quitting TickerCanvas stops automatic checks. The Windows desktop host is designed to keep active wallpaper views in the system tray when its window is closed; Quit stops that host. Windows builds must be evaluated with their stated preview and device-test status.
If the service cannot load a real snapshot, the previous desktop is kept. A design preview should not replace a real market wallpaper. The automatic desktop uses the view saved when you set it; press the command again when you want a different index or customization on that monitor.
Restore the earlier desktop
Use Restore previous desktop to stop the configured updates and restore the saved wallpaper. The app preserves the original screen-specific record rather than replacing it every time it refreshes. Developer beta packages are clearly labeled; macOS notarization, Windows device verification and store availability are separate from the presence of the wallpaper feature.
